Stomach cramping, fatigue, help!?
I have severe stomach cramping, nausea, fatigue, and achiness. Whenever I eat, I feel full all day until I get nauseated again about 5 hours later, when I have to eat again. The cramping is normally just a feeling of pressure but frequently it will spike and feel like someone is stabbing me. I had what seemed like stomach flu symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea saturday, but that was only a 24 hour period now I am left with this. Any ideas? Should I just go to the doctor?

Answer by The_Answer
You’re okay. The reason why you’re so gassy(full feeling/pressure) is because the bacteria in your intestines overproduced during your stomach flu and as a side effect produced a LOT of gas.

Try taking a Gas-X to relieve some of the pressure. If it’s still there by Saturday, I would see a doctor…but i think you’ll be fine.

Answer by anchit
Yes u need to see a doc.although u might be suffering from just simple gastroenteritis due to consumption of contaminated food(which brought nausea and vomiting) it could also be a long standing chronic problem(u have not mentioned the duration of ur troubles) like gastric ulcer.if its been there since saturday then we need to rule out apppendicitis(pain aroung umbilicus associated with nausea, vomiting and fever radiating rightwards) although a simple stomach inf is more propable.
If u wanna avoid doc,my advise is to avoid spicy food esp at unhygienic places, take some antacids to bring relief, frink milk before bed time(helps in acidity).u can try antibiotics like Norfloxacin 400mg twice a day(rf to ur country’s brand name) for 4 days along with metronidazole 400 mg twice a day(look for combination of both drugs in a singl tablet).

What ELSE could this be? Severe cramping right side!?

What ELSE could this be? Severe cramping right side!?
I am 8 weeks pregnant with my 5th child. A few days ago I wound up in the ER with severe cramping on the lower right side. Because I’ve already had my appendix taken out and the pain was low and not high (like a gall bladder) everyone, including myself thought it was a tubal pregnancy but upon doing an ultrasound in the hospital, the baby was in the uterus, and not even a cyst on that ovary so no problems there. The other obvious possibility was a kidney stone but I had no blood in my urine. They sent me home with pain killers and anti-nausea medication (for the morning sickness) and after a couple of days of resting on my left side, the pain went away. Surely it wasn’t just gas, to last two whole days. This pain was SEVERE, like my insides were going to explode, I couldn’t stand or talk through it. No vomiting, no diarrhea. Any other possibilities? Hernia? Aneurysm? No bleeding either, the pregnancy is fine.

Answer by wishbear9319
U may want to check ur kidneys because that was how I was when I found out about having what U call a Horse Shoe(U) kidney.

Answer by Rachel
I had that same problem while pregnant with my 3rd child. The doctor told me that it was just ligaments and muscles stretching to make room for the baby.

Answer by Safi
Keep in touch with your OB/Gyn and let them know (frequently) that you’re having these pains.

That said, some of us just have very painful pregnancies. It’s not always that wonderful glowing thing we’ve always heard about. Pregnancy is full of round ligament pain, things stretching, bones loosening, all sorts of weird feelings. And don’t get me started on the hormones and mood swings!

I’ve had two babies, and that’s enough for me! I got my tubes tied with this last one (he’s six months old now).

Answer by la_nena_sabe…
Some kidney stones don’t show up on ultrasounds, most of them do show up on x-rays {I guess you weren’t ordered x-rays because of your early pregnancy}. Absence of blood in your urine isn’t a sure way to discard a kidney stone diagnosis, either. If this pain was worse than labor contractions, and according to the location, duration and intensity, I’m almost sure you passed a kidney stone. I gave birth to my daughter by vaginal forceps delivery without anesthesia, and I’ve passed about a dozen kidney stones. I can tell you for sure, kidney stones hurt WAY MORE than giving birth, sweetheart! Hope that everything’s fine with your pregnancy, and don’t hesitate to return to the ER immediately if you experience this pain again.

Period pains? (Cramping) HELP.?

Period pains? (Cramping) HELP.?
I’ve been experiencing severe cramping and am due on my period in a few days. However, my stomach is constantly grumbling/rumbling severely and then cramping…I’ve never suffered from severe period pains, so I’m not too sure this is actually related to my period as over the weekend I have been extremely ill with a virus.
On friday I had a head cold (headache etc) and then on saturday I was sick around 6/7 times and sunday I was not sick but felt sick…today I thought I was better although I had a slight headache earlier. However I have been experiencing an extremely loud rumbling tummy, slight nausea and severe cramps…(+ I’ve been passing wind a lot and experienced diarrhea)
Do you think this is a follow on from my illness? and if so should I see a doctor for antibiotics?
Or is it jsut merely period pains…

Thank you :)

Answer by CAT
I think it’s from being sick. If you have a virus antibiotics will not help. You can go to the doctors and they could give you something for your upset stomach. I sure hope you feel better soon.

Intense Stomach Cramping and Diarrhea?
Okay, so sorry that this is probably a little gross, but this morning I woke up and went to class and my stomach was hurting a little bit, but I didn’t think anything of it. During class it started making growling noises like I had to go to the bathroom, and then after class I started to feel nauseous so I came home and my stomach pain intensified and it is a cramping pain and I went to the bathroom and had really bad diarrhea and it has been like that every 20 minutes for the past 3 hours. I get random hot flashes and nausea as well. I haven’t eaten anything today and I didn’t eat anything out of the ordinary yesterday, so I honestly have no idea what it could be. I’m supposed to get my period in a week, and sometimes my stomach acts up before hand, but never this bad. Do you think it’s serious enough to go to the doctor, or I should just let it run its course? Also, do you know any remedies to heal the stomach pain/nausea? I cannot handle throwing up at all, so I really want to get rid of this feeling haha. Oh and I’m a 19 year old female, and I also have acid reflux that I’m taking medicine for if any of that matters.

Thanks so much!

Answer by Zach Bronson
Stomach Flu, drink ginger ale and lots of water. Rest as much as possible and you should be fine. If symptoms last more than a few days, go to the doctor. Or sooner if you run a high fever and or become extremely dizzy.

Answer by Jen
Drink lots of fluids but I would stay away from anything solid until your diarrhea resolves. If it just started today, you are probably OK to wait until tomorrow to see your doc but be careful that you are not getting dehydrated. Over the counter anti-diarrhea meds work great. Just follow the directions on the packages. I know that when I have a stomach bug drinking pepsi helps alot. The sugar and cola are an old remedy for nausea. Good luck.

You want to see a doctor, it could be an intestinal parasite

You could have food poisoning.

Answer by Alec the Dalek
Have yourself tested for giardia. It really knocked me for a loop some years back. Crazy thing was, I caught it in Washington DC and it’s supposed to be a Third World disease!

Answer by rachel
could be a virus or a very mild case of food poisoning, or irritable bowel syndrome, but I’d talk to my dr about that one before assuming because of the dreaded 3-foot colonoscope!!!!

Answer by beatrix4607
u shud try taking diarrhea tablets, which say they help within an hour, or so! try tht

Answer by Doom Tints
Yes, there are several things that can cause this. Having this for a week is on the long side, if it is not better by tomorrow morning you need to call your doctor and set up an appointment.

There are some things that can cause diarrhea that will never go away unless you get treatment, so if it is not going away on its own you need to see a doctor.

I get these very intense cramps 2 or 3 times/year, just before my period (where I usually have little cramping?

I get these very intense cramps 2 or 3 times/year, just before my period (where I usually have little cramping?
And it actually feels like menstrual cramps, except it’s so painful, it makes me cry and scream of pain while it lasts. It only happens in the summer, and seems to always happen a few days after I go at the beach (I don’t know if there is any correlation with summer/beach, but it has been happening for almost 10 years now and it always happens during the summer, a few days after going to the beach)
I wake up with intense cramping, like menstrual cramps but so much worse. I feel like I have to go to the bathroom incessantly, though I have no need for it. I sometime have diarrhea. I have strong nausea/vomiting. I get really really hot and get cold sweat and I’m shaking a lot. I get really dizzy and feel like passing out. I can’t get comfortable in any position.
But all that is usually a short, intense period that will last 30-45 minutes, then I sleep and feel better when I wake up.
I once went to the emergency room for it, but like I said, it lasts 30-45 min and it’s over, so by the time I was called in to see the doc, I felt so much better and left.
It happened htis morning and I was home alone, I was going to call the paramedics, but again, I felt better by then. It’s always really embarrassing because i get so hot I have to take all my clothes off, and then I usually can’t get up again to get the phone.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Has anything like that ever happened to you?

Answer by ♥Taran*:)
You should see a local, good, caring doctor and tell him your symtems and ask him if you could take some medicine every time before or after your period. im pretty sure other people expirexed it to.
Once i had the same thing, but it lasted for an hour.
I think its just bad cramping. Maybe try Midol?
Hope this helps!

I’m 38 wks and having constant lower back and pelvic cramping, like menstrual cramps. Should I call my doctor?
I don’t want to call the doctor and she think I’m stupid! I’ve been dilated to a 3 for the past couple weeks now andI was up all night with irregular contractions and diarrhea/nausea. But throughout the day, the pain has gotten worse and is constant…it doesn’t really come and go. That’s why I’m not sure if this is real labor?

Answer by Mrs.Russell
it could be! get off the computer and go to the doctor! who cares what she thinks! you could be in labor this very second!

Answer by Christina
YES CALL THE DOCTOR ASAP!!

Answer by shasta
Please get off the computer honey I have gave birth to two kids and you need to go to the the hospital and up to labor and delivery.

Good Luck and Congrats

Answer by megs
You could be in labor, if it is constant pain and you feel pressure it may be a UTI, which then can make you go into labor. Just go in and be checked. You would rather be safe than sorry

YES!!!! I bet you anything it’s time!!! CONGRATULATIONS! Please keep us updated, I want to know what you have!!!

Appendicitis or just cramping?
I have sharp abdominal pain that hurts when i walk or get up, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. And i also havent been eating much because food seems really gross to me right now. But also, i just started my period a few days ago. So is it appendicitis or just cramping?
wow. if it is appendicitis,
is the pain on the left or right
becuase im getting both answers from people

Answer by totallyconfused27
Ive always heard vomiting for appendicitis. I would have it checked out sounds a lil scarey!

Answer by Futurestar8
If its a terribly sharp pain in just your left side then it could be your appendix, but otherwise it sounds like some bad period pains.. I have them like that every summer, take a cold bath, it really helps i promise

Answer by je t’♥
sounds like cramps. that’s exactly how i feel when i get bad cramps. if it was appendicitis, it would just be on the right side. and since you said you just started your period, i’m betting it’s cramps.

Answer by Abby
well if there is even the TINIEST chance that it is appendicitis you NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL… it is not worth risking your life in not going…. good luck and hope you feel better…

Answer by smookin21
if the pain is on the right side of ur abdomen it might be ur appendix.

Answer by Just ME
where is the pain? Is it low on the right side?

If so go to the er. It is very serious if it is appendicitis.. If it ruptures you could die.

Better be safe than sorry.

Answer by beccasue392
well if it hurts in ur lower right side then maybe..but if not the just cramping or stomach flu..but if its right then get it checked out..:)

Answer by missbroadway
Is it just on one side of your body, or your whole lower stomach area? You could just have a small virus, but you might want to go see a doctor. If it was appendicitis, your whole right side would be sharp cramping pain. But yea, get it checked out.

Answer by Tyler
It’s possible that you have Appendicitis. To be completely sure check with a doctor.

Answer by Laurzie
You may have ovarian cysts. I’ve had those before and I had similar symptoms to what you are describing. I also can get nausea and vomiting from bad cramps. I believe appendicitis hurts mainly on the right region.

Nausea and stomach cramping?
What could these two things be symptoms of? My brother, my brother’s girlfriend and I have all been experiencing the same symptoms for about 2-3 days now. None of us are vomiting (although sometimes we feel as though we could) or having diarrhea. Random nausea, mainly when we wake up and after meals. Stomach cramps to follow nausea. Any ideas?

Unexplained back pain, abdominal cramping, nausea, fatigue. What could it be?? Please help?
For four weeks now I have gone through a myriad of symptoms. The first week I went to the ER for vomiting, diarrhea, blood in stool, abdominal and lower back pain. After blood tests, urinalysis, and a CT, the only thing the dr could come up with was C diff as a prelim diagnosis. I was treated with flagyl and, after a couple days felt better. I had one good day and then the symptoms returned, only worse and now there was no blood in the stool. The vomiting and pain were uncontrollable, even with two rounds of morphine and zofran each and a clear CT made the dr shake his head and send me home with some pain pills and nausea meds. The pain has increasingly become worse and the nausea is almost constant. Now my bowels range between diarrhea and constipation and, going back to the ER after passing out twice because of the symptoms, they did an ultrasound which also came back clear. Im in my fourth week of constant abdominal cramping, lower back pain, and nausea. I have lost 30 lbs within this time and cannot eat, sleep, lie down, sit, or move around without pain. Ive had to start taking two vicodin at a time instead of just one just to function and am really frightened. I have a colonoscopy scheduled but would really appreciate any advice or ideas as to what this might be. Please, I’m grateful for any response.
