Severe headache, pain in urination, fatigue, flu-like symptoms?
Okay, so about 2 weeks ago, I went to the doctor because I’ve been having severe headaches about every day. Well they gave me Naproxen and Amitryptyline but they aren’t helping at ALL. That’s my first problem.

My second problem is, and it started about 2 weeks ago as well, On both sides of my lower abdomen, it feels like a stabbing ache when I’m urinating… its like right above my pubic hairline… it hurts pretty bad when I’m peeing but also aches and makes my lower back hurt when I’m not. It also hurts all the way up to under my ribs when I bend over. It feels like I’m being stabbed when I bend over. when I lay back on my back, it feels like my spine is on fire and I have to lay on my side. Which hurts the lower abdomen part. I’m just in a lot of pain and I don’t know what to do?

and this may be completely unrelated but about 3 days ago, I’ve been feeling like I can’t get enough air, but I’m not congested. I’m really fatigued and really achy and i feel really nauseas and dizzy, and I start panting and sweating, It accompanies my headaches, and light and sound makes it worse, and I’ve been vomiting but no diarrhea

I’ve been drinking a LOT of water and drinking cranberry juice to flush my system out but nothing is helping? I took a pregnancy test yesterday but it was negative but my period was supposed to start the day before yesterday, I’m still waiting. I havent had the usual mood swings or anything.

All I know is I feel really crappy and in alot of pain, i have blue cross blue shield thru my dad cus I’m 17 but my grandma who is my legal guardian won’t take me to the doctor, I don’t know what to do.

Does anyone know what could be going on??

This sounds like a low grade fever and an Internal infection and maybe a UTI along with it, maybe kidney and bladder infection. I think you’d better see your doctor, this goes beyond taking an aspirin.

nausea, headache, loss of appetite?
For the last two days, i’ve had diarrhea, nausea, and a loss of appetite.
And today, my head has been hurting extremely bad. My head feels pretty warm too. I think this may be due to some under cooked food. What can i do to help myself feel better and prevent dehydration?

Answer by Tumblingchick89
actually i felt like this for the past few days…. i sorta forced myself to eat… I wasn’t hungry and felt sick when i ate but i made myself eat and drink and today and yesterday i have felt better!!! at least force yourself to drink water… get some rest…. you may be stressed i think that is what caused me to feel sick like that… but idk hope this helps…

Answer by Helios
a little food poisoning? It would be fun to try out some “bitters” on you. This was often used in the past for this complaint – the “bitters” are sometimes made of grapefruit seeds. You put a few drops in a glass and put in water and swig it down.

It really works too! – so ask somebody if they have any of this stuff – or if you can go to a health food store, see if you buy a little bottle of it. 10 or 15 drops of this stuff does work wonders.

Then curl up somewhere and take little sips of water until you get lots to drink.

dizzy spells, upset stomach, muscle aches and pains, headache?
ok, so i’ve been feeling kinda sick since yesterday evening. it started pretty suddenly, and since then these symptoms have been pretty consistent:
-constant mild headache, just a general kinda ‘out-of-it’ feeling
-upset stomach (nausea, stomach pain, lack of appetite, diarrhea)
-sudden, brief dizzy spells
-muscle and joint pains- it just feels like the day after a really tough workout, only i haven’t exercised vigorously for a while

any idea what this might be?
btw im a teenage girl, if that helps
maybe you’re right…i forgot to mention my nose feels really stuffyand my throat is kinda scratchy.

Answer by lakeplacidgirl2001
Sounds like the flu!

Answer by dannii_ashton08
yes. Id say the flu. Have you had mono before? I had mono last year and ever since, if i get a cold or flu, my symptoms are much worse.

I just got over the flu, I had it for 2 weeks and so did my mum. I found it hard to beleive the flu causes joint pain but it really does. It mostly affected my knees and they are still sore.
I got nasty headaches dailya lso, but they were always in one spot at the back of my head.

I hope you feel better soon and if your symptoms worsen or your worried see a doctor to ease your mind.

btw- My mum had the flu too, but she also got bad stomach aches, i didnt suffer with this problem though. Mostly the headaches, muscle/ joint pain. Burning in my nose and really sore throat which made me cough phlegm up eewwww lol

Answer by jaketaustin31
sounds like the flu could be diabetes possibly but you have nothing to worry about

I have had this constant headache for the past three months…?
The headache is accompanied by nausea and I always feel like I’m gonna have diarrhea but never actually have it. What could be the matter? I have the headache as soon as I wake up and it lasts the whole day. It’s not an accute one but dull and constant. The backs of my thighs and calves also get sore, like when you have really bad diarrhoea.

Answer by Catherine K
Definetely go to the doctor

Answer by karmaliousdotdotdot
wow, that sound absolutely serious.

I am not kidding when i say get off the damn computer and goto the ER stat!!

There could be so many things that could be wrong, but your symptoms could be very serious. Go get yourself checked out literally right now!

Go and see a doctor – constant headaches are not normal, and could mean something serious.

No use asking for medical advice on an open forum like this.

perhaps:
hyperthyroidism – ( do you feel sweaty a lot? shaky? revved up? )
It is a simple blood test to find out. Ask your doc.

Answer by gv3_1914
you should really get it checked out. I used to work with a guy that didn’t show up work one day. Turns out he had a brain tumor he didn’t know about. He just dropped dead one day.

Answer by Daniel
Do as the nurse said, see a doctor. Why have you waited three months? I hate going to the doctor but I’d gone if I had those sypmtoms for more than a week or two.

Last time I had a month long headache it turned out to be high blood pressure. I have no idea what is ailing yo of course, but it does sound too serious to expect an effective remedy from Yahoo Answers. Please visit your doctor as soon as you can.

Answer by dbgyog
Pl try acupressure given below and see whether you get relief as your problem is rather complex.

Diarrhoea indicates toxic matters in your body, follow naturopathy and acupuncture. For acidity also it will work.

Alternate systems of medicine can only help you.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don’t treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves’ juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.

24/7 nausea, abdominal discomfort, swelling and bumps all over, fever, headache, weakness…etc.?

24/7 nausea, abdominal discomfort, swelling and bumps all over, fever, headache, weakness…etc.?
My friend (20 yrs, healthy and active) has been experiencing a wholllee bunch of symptoms this past week or so.

During the ‘first wave’ (as I will call it), it was nausea, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea. He usually gets these symptoms when he hasn’t gotten enough sleep, so it was sort of normal.

Second wave. Next day or so, he suddenly comes down with a bad migraine, fever, nausea, chills. So he rested for about two days and it was pretty much gone except for the nausea (which had lightened up but was still there) and he would still get some headaches here and there.

Third wave. Though it seemed like things were getting better, he was suddenly struck with more nausea, abdominal discomfort, bumps all over his body, and a swollen face (he can hardly open his eyes).

Throughout this whole time, he couldn’t eat as much as usual, though he says he still has appetite. He has also been experiencing weakness. He will be seeing a doctor asap, but tomorrow is Christmas..

Answer by bettyboop
Wow, if he has that many symptoms, I would suggest he go to the ER. As he been taking anything or eating anything out of the ordinary? The swollen face really scares me. If it swells around his neck, he won’t be able to breathe. The bumps and swelling sound like a major allergy to me……

Answer by Preacher’s Wife
It pi**es me off when people say OH just go to the ER. Emergency rooms are for EMERGENCIES. your friend still has an appetite, and so on and so on. Make a freakin doctors appt. That’s EXACTLY why people have heart attacks and crap like that in the waiting room, is because the nurses are taking care of nonsense patients. Not that your friend isn’t in need of medical care, not at all what i’m saying. Just tell him to make an appt. now with his regular dr. so he can be seen before he gets worse. Sorry, bettyboo just pi**ed me off all of a sudden.

Answer by pip
Um, hey.. Preachers Wife? Allergic reactions.. especially those that cause swelling like this can be VERY life threatening… it doesn’t take much of a change for the heart to start acting up or for the throat to start swelling.. and 10 minutes later he’d be blue in the face. So maybe you should think about things like that before you spout off about “People shouldn’t tell them to go to the ER” blah blah blah.

It does sound like an allergy. If it doesn’t start getting better.. and especially if it does start to get worse he should seek immediate medical attention … but if not he should see a Doc as soon as possible.

Answer by jbloor@att.net
The swollen face is the most alarming symptom, and I also suspect an allergic reaction. If you factor out the swollen thing, the symptoms could possibly be hepatitis. See if his eyes seem yellow. Ask him if his urine is unusaully dark in color?
I don’t think an ER visit is unreasonable is his symptoms get worse, or if new ones develop. Good luck….

Answer by TweetyBird
Thank you for emailing me about this situation. I hope I can offer you and your friend useful help.

I wish I could observe firsthand the facial swelling and “bumps” so that I could see exactly what this is. Does he have itching or pain with the “bumps”? Are they red? Scattered around on the body or in groups more or less localized on certain parts of the skin? I don’t think he’s having true migraines but severe headaches which aren’t the same thing, although I won’t dismiss the fact that the headaches may have been quite painful.

Has he eaten anything unusual? Anything he doesn’t ordinarily eat the rest of the year? Any changes in his urine or bowel elimination patterns? Any vomiting? When you say he had fever, what exactly has his temperature been? Can you give me a range or some examples? Has he had any bites or skin injuries preceeding these symptoms?

On the face of it, this sounds like a viral infection but he absolutely needs a work up to get an accurate diagnosis. I would imagine that by now (12/27/07) he’s already seen a doctor and I’d be interested to know what the doctor thinks.

Again, thank you for contacting me and I truly hope all turns out well for your friend. Please do let me know the outcome.

Liquid BM’s, Headache, Fatigue, Dehydration, Nausea, Hot & Cold Flashes, VIVID Dreams… Food Poisoning?
I went to the Theatre in Rosemont to see The Dark Knight on Friday and ate the nachos… I’ve been having all of the above ever since…

I feel like I’ve been stepped on and have to keep running to the bathroom. I feel slight nausea in the day and hot/cold flashes… I have been eating normal since then and half the time I can control the “I need to go right this second” feeling but at night… Last night I was up FIVE TIMES to have emergency potty-time.

I can’t tell if I have a fever but the hot and cold flashes are really getting annoying…

Last night I was hot before I lay down but once I was ready to sleep, I started to FREEZE and had to use my comforter… Then I just sweated all night.

I just feel tired… And I can’t drink enough water to feel hydrated. I just keep sweating or feeling freezing depending on where I go in my house… The FREEZING cold bedroom, the super hot bedroom…

I don’t like anti-diarrhea medication because whatever is inside me wants out and I won’t get better until it evacuates!

Other then drinking more water and eating sparingly, what do you recommend?

When should I consider going to the doctor? (I HAVE NO MONEY TO SEE A DOCTOR)

Answer by SBflyer99
Sounds like a stomach bug. Try eating crackers and drinking ginger ale. The crackers will help to bond you so your bowel movements will not be so liquid.
