Answer by musikalmonky
i would suggest getting an appointment with your gn and asking to have a formal pregnancy test done because this all happened to me all three times with my girls. it could just be that you are sick and worn out and the constant drinking could be that you are dehydrated and that is why you are not going to the bathroom as much. in the cold time of year, you have to drink twice as much to stay hydrated than you do in the summer. i would try to talk to your gn and get the test or wait about another week and see what that brings and try an over the counter test again. Some women have low doses of the hormone that is picked up in those tests and i never showed on those till i was 7 to 8 weeks pregnant.

I have had cold/flu symptoms for about 3 weeks now, what could this mean?

I have had cold/flu symptoms for about 3 weeks now, what could this mean?
I watch a lot of House, so I’m most likely over-reacting, but still. Also, I’m not one of those people who gets sick all the time, I’m actually pretty rarely sick. Here is a list of my symptoms (remember, this is over a three week span, so not all of these are happening at once):

1.) Coughs of two kinds, dry and phlegmy (sort of alternating between them randomly)
2.) Runny/stuffed up nose
3.) Sore throat
4.) Nausea
5.) Throwing up (this was only one day)
6.) Fatigue
7.) Headaches
8.) Eyes overly sensitive to light
9.) SLIGHT chess tightness
10.) Fever
11.) Diarrhea

It kind of cycles through these, occasionally feeling like I’m finally getting better, but then the next day I’ll have a fever or something. Does anybody know if all these nasties are just a bunch of bad luck, or are they symptoms for something worse?
More symptoms:

-Tightness of the chest
-Trouble breathing

I don’t have asthma, so it’s a little odd that I have these symptoms.

Answer by Joe D
It sounds like you had a series of upper respiratory infections, including the cold, possibly the flu, and maybe sinuitis.

This year there’s been a substantial number of people with symptoms lasting just as you describe.

I doubt you have anything worse than what I mentioned.

One thing: It is possible to reinfect yourself with a cold from your toothbrush. If you are clear of symptoms now, get a new toothbrush!

Also be certain to drink fluids (more than you feel are needed) and if necessary, visit your local pharmacy and describe the symptoms with the pharmacist, who can help direct you to the appropriate non-prescription remedies to ease the symptoms.

I have had cold/flu symptoms for about 3 weeks now, what could this mean?

What’s wrong with me? stomach problems over 5 weeks now!?
I was originally diagnosed with vertigo 5 weeks ago after becoming extremely dizzy and vomiting, my period started the same day, 2 weeks later I seen a physio and no longer felt the dizzyness I was then diagnosed with gastroenteritis a day later as I was still vomiting, my other symptoms included very strong pulse in stomach, constant nausea, anxiety, diarrhea this lasted from the wednesday to the monday the doctor just told me there was nothing they could do. After this went away I was ok for a few days before becoming ill again I was fine all day untill after dinner, I had my dinner at 7pm and at 1am I made myself sick as I felt so ill and my whole dinner was still in my stomach! I was ill for a couple of days after with constant nausea and stomach pulse the same happened to me last night, couldn’t sleep due to stomach pulse and nausea! I am not pregnant but my periods have been all over the place throughout this, can anyone help? I can’t handle it anymore!

Answer by Shanayia
During or after ur period ur go threw phases like random emotions and dizzyness and stuff like that But after about a month u will feel normal again.

Answer by emotionalvowels
shanayia is right, but just to be on the safe side, make sure you are keeping a journal of your experiences and have it ready when you see your woman’s health Professional. Make sure to see a Doctor that specializes in your particular issue. Basic physicians do not have enough experience in gynecological issues to notice early signs of bigger problems.

Answer by HealthFreak
Sometimes people (for a number of different reasons) have a hard time absorbing nutrients. And a deficiency in certain nutrients causes a number of different things, ranging from dizziness to diarrhea! Doctors often misdiagnose nutritional deficiencies for sicknesses (this happens often, actually!!!

A deficiency in the B-vitamins and iron causes dizziness. a deficiency in vitamin B3, vitamin B5, and vitamin B6 (which are B-vitamins) causes nausea. a deficiency in magnesium and chromium causes anxiety. A deficiency in copper, zinc, folic acid, and the essential fatty acids causes diarrhea.
You might want to get your nutrient levels for these nutrients in particular checked. the nurse will take a blood test to see if you’re low in any of them. also, make sure you’re getting your probiotics from UNpasteurized sources and/or a probiotic supplement.

I’ve been on my period for 3 weeks?

I’ve been on my period for 3 weeks?
I had a baby 8 months ago and breastfed until he was 4 months. My periods resumed in month 5 and were fairly normal until 3 weeks ago. It has varied in flow but has been very heavy with small clots of blood. Also, I have had nausea, diarrhea for a week, cramps, and headaches. Is this just my body getting back to normal?

Also, I took a pregnancy test thinking maybe this was a miscarriage and it was negative.

Answer by Aaron E
Thats Normal WTF

Answer by lightningtime
Any bleeding that lasts for 10 days or more really needs to be evaluated by a doctor to determine a cause. If you are changing one pad or tampon in an hour you need to see a doctor immediately as this can lead to anemia. Period abnormalities can be due to many things including stress, hormone imbalance, infection, illness, medications, weight gain/loss, thyroid, polyp, cyst, amongst other reasons. Please see your doctor for an exam and testing to determine what the exact cause may be.

diarrhea for 2 weeks?

diarrhea for 2 weeks?
I have had diarrhea for over 2 weekx now. some minor cramping, otherwise just weak but ok. what is it?
diarrhea is mostly liquid, light brown to yellow clear no real solids. some nausea and very weak, drinking lots of water. very afraid to eat…ANYTHING, and losing appetite. there is some minor cramping and some nausea but thats it. I am post menapausal so i am not pregnant….that’s out. is there some virus out there that is “going around” that does this? I went to the DR. they ran tests on blood and stool samples and nothing was found. Any ideas? This is getting scary and I can’t go any where (work etc) Help if you can

Answer by Crystal B
Most likely, you have picked up a parasitic bacteria of some sort, but you could have irritable bowel syndrome or Crone’s Disease. These are not easily diagnosed and you typically have to go to a specialist. Has your doctor given you a referral? I sure hope so because this is not good news. I had something like that a couple of years ago and it was actually just food poisoning–I had picked something up at an airport restaurant. But you really REALLY ought to get yourself checked out for more serious conditions. If it’s not gone in a few more days, I’d start yelling at your doctors to take you more seriously and ask for a referral. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. Not fun.

Answer by dogwalker
Have you changed your regular diet at all in the last 2 weeks? think of drinks, not just food, as well as a change in any medication, like a daily multivitamin?…anything added/taken away that you typically consume/don’t consume?

Answer by steve.c_50
Try something like immodium and some sort of tranquilizer like valium if you have it and see if that helps. You could just have an anxiety circle (gut makes you anxious, which messes with your gut). If the doc cleared you for salmonella, etc, then it might work.

Answer by House MD
Stop taking those vitamin C pills

Answer by milton b
Diarrhea for 2 weeks is not normal and this is a serious condition. You need to get back to your doctor and this time if he hasn’t go any better ideas that the last time you were there find another doctor.

Answer by tipp10
Try removing wheat, rye, barley and oats completely from your diet. Celiac disease can give the symptoms that you have. It can take a few weeks to work the gluten out of your system.

Check this website: www.celiac.org

I know that it is hard because wheat is used in so many things but it can be done. I know because I am Celiac.

Let me know how you are doing at tipp10@yahoo.com

Answer by SHARI
My friend’s 10 month old baby has had diarrhea for over a month now. The doctor said that there was another baby that had the same problem. They still do not know what is causing this baby’s diarrhea. They just took a stool sample and are waiting for the results.

Have you ever had gall bladder problems? Gall bladder issues give you BAD stomach cramps and you can get nauseated. You can also get diarrhea from it too. Maybe you should further tests ran…

Answer by kelly_hotma
you need to see your doc. have you ever had a colonoscopy before, there may be bacteria that is harful in your stomach or intestines causing it, it could also be irritable bowels or a really long stretch of tummy flu but if you arent running a fever then maybe not the tummy flu and is there any blood in your stool?…you should see a doctor for sure and if you see blood in the stool go to the Emergency room immediately and describe the symptoms and pain to a proffessional, good luck

Answer by riley2349
If your labs have come up with no virus, and it seems like you don’t want to eat just so you don’t go bolting to the restroom. Try the B-R-A-T diet for a while. Your bowels or digestive tract may have been irritated. this can be caused by different new foods or by changes in medication. The Brat diet is easy B-bananas – R-rice – A-applesauce – T-toast. These are all easily digested and the starches should help. If you are drinking just water, be careful. While replacing some liquid your body is using, the diarrhea is flushing most of it back out, (since water is re-absorbed through your intestines first,) Have a friend get pedialyte for you. It doesn’t matter how old you are, it is great for replacing elecrolytes that can add to your feeling weak. Stay away from Strong juices like orange, grapefruit juice. If you drink apple juice dilute it. the acids and sugars will only aggravate your bowels. Also, avoid coffee and tea, they are natural diuretics and will only add to the problem. Also look for over-the-counter anti-diarrheah medication. if the “pink stuff” isn’t working, ask your pharmacist for the next ‘step up’. be sure to consult your doctor if you are taking additional meds.

20 weeks pregnant, diarrhea?? tmi! ?
I’m 20 weeks pregnant, and for the last couple of weeks I’ve been having bowel movements that are more watery than usual. some days less watery than others. for a couple of days it was greenish in color, but now it’s back to brown. it’s not actual diarrhea, because I do not have to go a lot…only once or twice a day. I have no other symptoms (cramping, headaches, weakness, nausea, etc). what could this be, please help!!

Answer by Roslyn
it could just be a bug, or something you ate. If you are very nervous about it, call your doctor and doubel check that it isn’t anything serious.

I have had diarrhea for about two weeks, something I ate?
I made dinner on my grill for myself and three other people about two weeks ago. Since then I have had the runs and persistent nausea. I have not vomited but I dont have an appetite at all. I am drinking plenty of fluids to keep hydrated but it is making me so tired.

I made hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. I believe the hamburgers may have been a little pink in the middle, but no one else got sick from it. The weather has been hot here, I dont like to eat when it is hot out but I dont think that would cause diarrhea. And last night I was having cramps from it really bad, I was doubled over in pain. It did not feel like gas pains, I had not used the bathroom for a day or so and it felt like I was backed up, but it was still loose.

I am going to see my doc this after noon but I was just seeking some advice on here too. Thanks

Answer by Spaz
Even if no one else got sick, it could still be food poisoning. Everyone’s digestive system is (specifically) unique, and handles itself differently.

If it’s been going on long this long, though, good idea to get checked.

Hope you feel better soon!

Answer by Brown Eyed Girl ;)
Since you’ve had “the runs” for so long, I really think you should go to a doctor and find out what’s causing this. It coudl be something minor but it may be something more serious. You don’t want to ignore it… just in case.

Good luck to you!

Answer by LadyMady
Why pose the question to laymen when you are going to see a professional? Bacteria only last in the body for short periods of time (you either get better or die) and I would think after two weeks the bad bacteria would have dissipated by now.
Mono, hepatitis, appendicitis, spastic colon, Irritative bowl syndrome, gallbladder problems, parasites, and otheres can cause your symptoms. If the dr is any good at what he does, he will find it.

possibly 9 weeks pregnant and still BFN?
Is it possible to be 9 weeks pregnant (my period is 50 days late) and still getting BFN? I’ve tested every one/two weeks using 3 diff brands (one walmart 2 dollar tree and one clear blue digital) using first morning urine. I’m not on any meds diet and exercise hasn’t changed…I am ttc. I’m experiencing
Nausea
Heartburn
Headaches
Dizziness
Moodiness
Emotional
Tired all the time
Craving hot foods
Area around nipples are darker
Bloated
Lower back discomfort
Using the bathroom more often
Constipation/diarrhea
I have plans to go get a blood test done soon but I was wondering what everyone THOUGHT and wanting to see if anyone else has had this problem?? I know you cant tell me for sure if i am or not. I’m 22 and have always had a regualr cycle..
Zaggy i’m actually not thinking bout being pregnant and just wonder whats goin on with my body! I mean yeah i’d love to be pregnant but i’ve tried so long i’ve almost given up hope

Answer by Zyggy
If you really think you may be pregnant, the blood test will tell you. You could be experiencing these symptoms because you WANT to be pregnant, but some women actually don’t get a positive on a pregnancy test for some time, it’s not unheard of. I hope it goes the way you want it too.

Answer by Gardianlh
There is a possibility that you did skip a month, cuz it will happen, even if you are regular, try the tests again and if it doen’s work, then go to your gynocologist.

Answer by sunkissed_beach_bum3
i dont see how you could not be pregnant with all those symptoms..i’d get a blood test for sure, asap.

I’ve had a wicked nausea for 5 weeks what do i do?
I’ve been nauseous for a while but about 2 weeks of the nausea i went to the doctor. He said i had a sinus infection and gave me a prescription for Azithromicin and that cleared up my allergy-related symptoms (congestion, sneezing, coughing, etc.) and the day after i finished my antibiotic everything was perfect for a day and the day after, i felt like crap again. This time it’s all in the stomach no allergy related symptoms whatsoever. What could this be? and What can i do?

Other info:
Its only nausea no stomach pain or constipation or diarrhea
It usually flares up after i eat something (worse with wheats)
I usually take Tums when it flares up and it helps sometimes

Answer by Nora Collins
i feel your pain, i came across your question trying to do some research of my own and so far i found that ginger root in hot water helps as well as gravol and just small meals, i also talked to my doctor and she said it may be anxiety related but she also said and this is really important is that when you do start to feel better work you way up to larger portions because you’ll need to stretch your stomach over a period of 5-6 days. Hope this helps, and hope you feel better soon!

its all just part of the lovely experience of pregnancy (sarcasm).

Answer by gogogadgetlonglegs
You seem rather concerned about this. If I were you, I’d go see the doctor about it. It may be nothing, but then it could be serious.

Answer by witchy woman in Ohio
you are getting close to your time you will have all kinds of pains and being uncomfortable its the baby and result of carrying extra weight good luck with the baby

Answer by Gumnaam1
have you been to your internist or gynecologist? you should get yourself checked out. its hard to make any guesses without examining you…

Answer by aquavelvet6
it could be your muscles. when your pregnent your muscles are stretching and pulling. But it could also be your hips and pelvic to. When your pregnent your whole body changes at a very fast pace to acomodate for your growing baby. Diareah and cramping can be normal as long as their are not any other factors involved. If you are in doubt then you should call your doctor because they really are the best people to talk to.
